TEACHERS CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Teachers must be punctual to school, class and all school activities.
2. Teachers must be neat and decently dressed at all times.
3. Teachers should not receive visitors during school hours (except in emergencies).
4. Teachers should not make or receive calls while teaching in the class.
5. No property or funds of the school should be taken out of the premises without due authorization no matter the justification.
6. Rudeness to parents is totally unacceptable no matter the provocation or justification- Teachers must understand that parents are the customers of the school.
7. No fighting or harsh exchange of words by teachers in the school premises.
8. No stealing of school or colleagues properties.
9. No smoking or alcohol consumption within the school premises.
10. Do not inflict bodily harm on students while instilling discipline.
11. Punishment should be commensurate with the offence- Don’t over punish.
12. No absence from duty posts without due authorization.
13. No financial transactions on behalf of the school without due authorization.
14. No loitering around by staff, all staff must be productively engaged or resident in the staff room.
15. No interruption of other teachers during classes.
16. Do not stay longer than your period, don’t eat into other teachers lesson time.
17. No pidgin English by teachers in the school premises.
18. Hard drugs, weapons, fetish items etc are not allowed in the school premises.
19. Pornographic materials are not allowed in the school premises.
20. Sexual advances or pedophilic activities towards students are not allowed.
21. Cliques and union activities are not allowed in private schools.
22. No speaking to the press on behalf of the school without authorization.
23. Respect and regard for constituted authority is non negotiable.
24. Protect the interest of the school at all times.
25. Do not divulge school confidential information to third parties.
26. Do not use the school property for private use outside the school.
27. Do not engage in bias, favouritism and double standard-Treat all students equally.
28. Manage your class well- rowdy/noisy classes will not be tolerated.
29. All complaints made by parents must be addressed within Twenty four hours. Do not keep parents complaints unattended to(unless it is beyond your control).
30. Be safety and security conscious at all times. Report unsafe conditions and security breaches ASAP.
31. Ensure you mark all home work, assignments and corrections of your pupils.
32. Do not use abusive or derogatory words on your students.
33. Do not place any form of levies or demands on the students without authorization.
34. Insubordination is totally unacceptable
35. Do not ask parents for favours/assistance to the detriment of the schools image.
36. Indulging in any form of examination/marking malpractice is not allowed.
37. Teachers are not allowed to leave the school premises without authorization
38. Any child who is absent from school must be reported to the secretary for parental contact.
39. All teachers should assist in co-curricular activities in the school.
40. Signing the school time book, class time book & staff movement book is compulsory.
41. On no account should students be asked to punish other students.
42. Do not administer drugs or treatment to sick students without authorization from mgt.
43. Do not hold the school management to ransom for whatever reason- Table grievances responsibly.

PUPILS CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Pupils should always be kind, polite and respectful to fellow pupils, teachers and school staff. They should use appropriate language and tone when speaking to others.
2. Pupils should take responsibilities for your own actions, admit mistakes and learn from them while striving to do your best in all activities.
3. In the classroom, pupils should listen attentively when others are speaking, raise their hand to ask questions and follow the teacher’s instructions. They must ensure their desks and classroom areas are kept tidy.
4. Pupils must attend school regularly and arrive on time. They should remain seated during lessons unless instructed otherwise.
5. Pupils should show responsibility in taking care of school property, including desks and equipment, and should avoid causing damage. They must also keep the school environment clean by properly disposing off litter.
6. Pupils should play safely and fairly during playtime, following game rules, sharing equipment and reporting issues to the supervising teachers.
7. Pupils are expected to wear the school uniform neatly, maintaining a clean a clean and well groomed appearance at all times.
8. Pupils must refrain from all forms of bullying, whether physical or verbal, and should report any bullying incidents to a teacher or a trusted staff immediately.
9. Pupils should always be truthful, as honesty is important.
10. Pupils are expected to treat everyone equally, regardless of race, religion, gender or background, and should be open-minded to others differences.

PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Parents are expected to relate with teachers and the school management with understanding and courtesy- parents are not expected to shout at school staff or treat them with disrespect. Be assured that our staff will also relate with parents with courtesy and regard.
2. Parents are expected to bring their wards to school on time and pick them up on time too.
3. Parents are expected to please drive carefully and compulsorily reduce their speed when in the school premises or close to the premises.
4. Parents are not allowed to enter into any form of financial transactions or dealings with teachers without the consent/knowledge of the school management.
5. Parents should please dress decently when coming to drop or pick their wards. Indecent dressing and indecent exposures will not be accepted.
6. Parents are not allowed to beat or discipline other people’s children. If any child has upset or harassed your child, kindly report to the management, rather than take laws into your hands.
7. Parents are not allowed to give other children any form of food, meals, snacks, drinks, money etc. Please this is important.
8. The school must be pre-informed of birthday parties and the scope of the party - Please do not catch us unawares as our reaction may upset you.
9. Please do not bring sick or unwell children to school. Take them for medical attention and let them rest at home. Also students with contagious conditions (Measles, Chicken Pox, Apollo etc.) should please stay at home so as not to endanger other students and staff.
10. The schools closing and pick up rules must be strictly adhered to.
11. Weapons, drugs, alcohol etc. are not allowed in the school premises.
12. Assaulting or insulting teachers or other school staff is not accepted.
13. Parents are expected to attend PTA meetings and make useful inputs.
14. Parents are encouraged to use the school suggestion box and also fill feedback forms whenever they are circulated by the school.
15. Parents should channel their reservations and grievances (if any) directly to the management for immediate and prompt resolution. Don’t let complaints linger and please don’t take laws in to your hands.
16. Selling of items by parents within the school premises is not allowed.
17. Fighting or harsh exchange of words between parents is not allowed.
18. Parents should not entice or induce teachers to engage in any form of malpractice in favour of their wards.
19. Parents should ensure that their children do all homework and assignments given to them.
20. Parents are expected to pay school fees promptly. This will make it possible for the management to run the school effectively and meet all its obligations to the staff and service providers. Our staff put in so much effort and consequently deserves prompt payment of their salaries.
